A native tribe (Adivasi) of western India, the Warli or Varli inhabit mountains as well as coastal regions around the Maharashtra-Gujarat border and the neighbouring territories. They have their own animistic beliefs, way of life, traditions, and rituals, yet they have also accepted many Hindu ideas as a result of acculturation.
